Opening Remarks

Maharishi: ‘Jai Guru Dev. It is very good that you are in a place which is not inhabited by anyone, but that is fortunately the centre of the United States. You are coming there to establish global peace. You are going to be the first citizens of the Global Country of World Peace.

‘It is very fortunate for the world that the Global Country of World Peace in the United States is being administered by a scientist, who is hailed as the supreme scientist of the quantum field, the source of all order and evolution of life in the world.

‘Now, with the thoughts of the President of the Global Country of World Peace, Dr Hagelin, what is going to be in that place in the centre of America? A centre of world peace, a global centre of world peace, has been inaugurated yesterday, and today it is being broadcast. The world press will be happy to see how, in a very quiet manner, the sentiments of the government of the USA will change to implement policies that will be more and more in favour of life, in favour of integration, in favour of invincibility for the USA, and an example, inspiration, and guideline for rising to invincibility for every country of the world.

‘It is just a matter of a few days. Each day is very important for these steps of evolution that the world press will be reporting on from this place in the USA to the whole world. It is very bright, very practical—nothing much to talk about. The lighting of a lamp does not have to be talked about in glorious terms, like “Now I am lighting the light, and the darkness will go.” You light the light, and quietly the darkness disappears. Like that, in the reign of Dr John Hagelin, peace is going to be peacefully emerging on all levels of national life and raising the nation to invincibility.

‘World press, see what has happened in all these fifty years: how invincibility has been peacefully rising through different levels of national consciousness.

‘Great congratulations to Dr John Hagelin and all his supporters and admirers in all the different countries. All the great scientists have Dr Hagelin as their ideal—the ideal scientist. So here is the crown of the scientific age, rising to be the guiding light of science and technology for its supreme value in order to make every country rise to invincibility peacefully, with the invincibility of all good on all levels of life.

‘Dr Hagelin, I congratulate you. And I ask the world press to see—just to see. There is nothing much for me to say; I have been saying it for fifty years. Now it is for the world to see that the bright dawning sun of the scientific age is rising to spread its light evenly for the good of all mankind everywhere.

‘With the onset of light, the darkness is going to disappear. It is not long in the future now—today, tomorrow, next week, next month. It is just a matter of a few days or weeks. Continue to do it. All questions will be answered by the wise people of this Peace Government. Dr Hagelin is organizing in the language of America, in the language of science.

‘All glory to Guru Dev. I feel fulfilled, talking like this to the world press in the country of greatest importance and creativity, the country of science and technology.

‘Dr Hagelin, go ahead, answer all the questions of the press. And all your colleagues, all your helpers, are there. I heard your inauguration yesterday. I was very happy to see that everyone is there to support Dr Hagelin.

‘This is the one message that I have today to give to the world press in the country that is going to create world peace and invincibility for every nation. All glory to God. All glory to Guru Dev, our guiding light. Jai Guru Dev.’

Questions and Answers

Dr Hagelin: ‘Jai Guru Dev, Maharishi, and thank you very much for that beautiful, very comprehensive, very concisely powerful message to the press today. It would be a great joy for myself and the great scientists and great leaders of the Global Country of World Peace to answer questions from the press that are continuing to come up. I will maybe take a couple now with His Excellency Dr Bevan Morris. Maharishi has charged us to answer the questions from the press.

‘Again, we thank Maharishi very, very much for this concentrated message of Total Knowledge, which really told the whole story today and emphasized that really the proof of the pudding is in the tasting, that an influence of peace and unity will be generated now from this one spot on earth and from all those locations where Maharishi has established coherence-creating groups of Yogic Flyers in the United States and throughout the world, just as light naturally illuminates the darkness, no matter how dense the darkness, without a lot of fuss.

‘Now, I will take a few questions that have come in from the press here in Kansas, who would like more information. The first question is:

‘Why has Maharishi chosen the geographical centre of America for his World Capital of Peace? What is significant about the centre of the country? 

‘‘From the ancient science of architecture, Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, we have the science of building in harmony with Natural Law, and also city planning and country planning in harmony with Natural Law. We have the knowledge that the central point of a home or a building or a township or an entire nation is an extremely strategic point of profound silence. Physically, it is very much like the centre of a drum which, for certain of its vibrational modes, is a point of absolute stillness even in the midst of the dynamic activity of the sound of the drum. It is a silent and resonant point of power.

‘This World Capital of Peace here in Washington Township in Kansas is the centre of gravity for the entire country. It is literally the central point of the United States. Just coming to this land, you can see the deep silence and liveliness of alertness in this very pure part of the country. You experience it as a seat of power for the country.

‘We are taking advantage of the natural, strategic power of this point of silent dynamism at the centre of the country to leverage our power to produce the maximum influence of peace and positivity for the country by establishing a seat of knowledge, a seat of governance, from this place of maximum strategic influence of the country.

‘The second, related question is:

‘What will take place at the World Capital of Peace? What will be its different functions?  

‘There are three functions initially for the World Capital of Peace. Firstly, it will be the seat of a group of coherence-creating Yogic Flyers, who will be enlivening silence and radiating this silent power of peace—this infinitely dynamic silence—across the entire country to enliven peace and invincibility. So there will actually be a physical influence of peace, unity, and powerful positivity radiating from this central spot like rays of light covering and traversing the entire country, raising the collective consciousness of the country to be more peaceful, and enlivening dynamic peace in the otherwise very noisy and chaotic consciousness of our country. They will restore peace, expanded comprehension, and global EEG coherence for people across the country, bringing the life of the people more into harmony with Natural Law for freedom from mistakes and problems.

‘By enlivening the totality of all the Laws of Nature, the Unified Field, in the minds and hearts and behaviour of people all across the country from this one central spot, everyone will think and act spontaneously more in harmony with Natural Law for problem-free life and for naturally problem-free and prevention-oriented administration of our country.

‘So, one: a coherence-creating group of Yogic Flyers, as large as possible. Number two: training programmes in Maharishi's Supreme Political Science to train a new generation of leadership in those administrative principles, that science of governance, that can truly prevent problems and raise the nation to invincibility. These programmes of health, education, defence, architecture, agriculture, and economics that are aligned with Natural Law are the policies, programmes, and solutions in harmony with Natural Law that will maintain the life of the people in accord with Natural Law for the problem-free administration of society and the world.

‘This will be a central training centre for a new generation of political leadership through training in Maharishi’s Supreme Political Science, which really is Unified Field-Based Administration. The administration of society will be based on the knowledge and application of the totality of all the Laws of Nature, the totality of nature’s organizing intelligence that successfully governs the vast universe.

‘Finally, beginning immediately here at the World Capital of Peace in the Brahmasthan of America, there will be broadcasting via the Internet, via satellite, via all methods of telecommunications. This will be a point from which supreme knowledge and supreme political science will radiate. From this spot, the knowledge and programmes which are changing the destiny of America right now, changing the destiny of the world right now, the programmes of the Peace Government of the Global Country of World Peace, the programmes of the US Peace Government, will be radiating, will be broadcasting from here, enlivening the knowledge to transform civilization throughout this country, broadcasting and radiating from this one spot.

‘One more closely related question, also from the press in Kansas City:

‘What influence will the new World Capital of Peace have on the country? How will America be different once the programmes of the World Capital are fully functioning?

‘The answer is: America will be silently transformed, totally transformed. One will simply see the eradication of crime and other life-damaging behaviour, life-afflicting and health-afflicting behaviour; will see the eradication of disease; will see the eradication of poverty through an influx of creativity and support of Natural Law. Problems simply will not arise. Negative trends will disappear. Positive trends will be promoted from this one place.

‘Suddenly, the conventional government will be able to report markedly reduced crime and, ultimately, the elimination of crime. The government will be able to report powerfully improving health trends and radically reduced health care costs. The government will be able to report profoundly improved educational outcomes in every level of student behaviour, student performance. The government will be able to report positive trends in every area, including the elimination of terrorism, and prevention of war on a global scale. All of this will be quietly produced without a fuss, without a noise, by enlivening Total Natural Law, the Constitution of the Universe, from this one place, the World Capital of Peace. This will raise the life of the people to be in accord with Natural Law for natural prevention of problems. People will be thinking and acting in harmony with Natural Law.

‘The nation will be completely transformed on a silent level. Problems simply will not arise. Even the conventional government will enjoy the benefit of this transformation, because they will be able to report to the people and bestow upon the people freedom from problems, national security and invincibility, markedly improved health, and improved economic trends, as the creativity of the country is unleashed, as the total brain development of the country begins to be more and more accessed and harnessed.

‘Quietly, quietly, all these changes will come about, because even though the Peace Government is a silent government, you could really say it is a transcendental government functioning on the unseen level of consciousness, the level of the Unified Field, deep beneath the nuclear level. While silent and unmanifest, it is the true government of the country, because the country and its government is truly governed by the collective consciousness of the people.

‘Government cannot do anything other than what the collective consciousness dictates. The government, in a sense, is virtually powerless and always following the trends of the people. By raising the trends, the deservability, the intelligence, the creativity, the health, the productivity of the people, the government will, in a sense, be presiding over this problem-free nation—spontaneously problem-free from the inside out—from the level of the individual consciousness of all the people.

‘The government, which now presides over a problem-ridden nation, will find itself presiding over a problem-free nation. The people will be grateful for the success—apparent success—of the conventional government in providing a problem-free nation, an invincible nation. The government will enjoy the support of the people and will be spared the ignominious fate of all previous administrations of being thrown out of office election after election, due to their inability to satisfy the people and their inability to achieve their lofty campaign promises. We will make sure that all governments can fulfil their lofty campaign promises by doing it for them or, more accurately, by engaging Natural Law to achieve all success for the people and for the government.

‘So, that will be the change. The change will be to a problem-free nation and a truly prevention-oriented administration. That will be the result of this new centre.’
