Opening Remarks

Maharishi: ‘Jai Guru Dev. All these beautiful exhortations and expectations of the Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace are going to be realized by every government. Every government today has a chance to rise to the level of invincibility by raising the national consciousness of the country to a high level of integration, positivity, and freedom from problems.

‘There is nothing much to say. The English saying says, “The taste of pudding is in eating.” I invite every government today to rise to invincibility with very little effort of theirs. Set aside a few hundred people, and I will train them for the country. Either the government do it or the wealthy people do it, or the poor will do it. If the wealthy do not rise today, then they will be taken to task tomorrow when the poor create integrated national consciousness. The government will be out of power very soon if the government does not participate in creating those invincibility-creating people—a few hundred. A few hundred people can to be trained in the science and art of creating coherence in national consciousness, and the whole national consciousness will be in favour of affluence, freedom, positivity.

‘The time has come. Avail of it. I invite every single citizen of the country—anyone who takes pride in being a citizen of his country—or any government, who is fond of playing its parental role for the people, to design a new destiny of the people, and not ramble on suffering. The time has come for everyone to rise individually to the state of enlightenment, and collectively raise the national consciousness to invincibility.

‘There is nothing much to say. I have been talking for fifty years. And now is the time to eat the fruit.

‘Dr Morris, from your level as the Prime Minister of the First Ruler of the Age of Enlightenment, His Majesty Raja Raam, on his behalf, invite every government to take a step to raise the nation to invincibility. Otherwise, every government will have to face what the present civilization offers it. What the present civilization offers to every government is change every three, four, five years. What is this? It is a mockery to administration. Every administrator today is being charged with something. Some are being sent to jail. Some presidents are in jail because they did not do their proper work; they did wrong things to their people. The time is here for everyone to enjoy. Begin to enjoy, or you will not be allowed to continue to suffer very long.

‘This is the message from this platform of Vedic Administration—the administration of the universe. We stand with knowledge; we stand with proven knowledge. Now it is no more that time which I faced in the world fifty years ago when I started the Movement. Now I stand with the confidence of having created the result which I promised fifty years ago—that this programme of Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques including Yogic Flying will raise the individual to the state of enlightenment, to the state of good health, freedom from problems and conflicts, freedom from negativity in the national consciousness.

‘What has happened in the national consciousness of Holland is very clear to everyone. Just four hundred people practising this programme of creating invincibility—just four hundred people in the midst of the sixteen million population of Holland—just four hundred people can create this miracle. Everything today, on the collective level of Holland—the Dutch consciousness—is a miracle today.

‘Whether the press reports it or not does not make the reality. What is the feeling of the people of Holland? The rich people of Holland are free now. What were they three months ago? They were haunted by fear. They were afraid of going into the streets, because there was a gangster there waiting for them. The same country, the same rich people. I am asking the rich people of Holland to build the Capital for a silent ruler of Holland—the light of God, Total Natural Law. If the rich people of Holland keep on watching and enjoying the coherence that some other people are creating, they should know that they are doing an injustice to themselves, to their wealth, to their children and to their families.

‘In the government of Holland, people are getting benefits from the small number here and there—nothing big—but the transformation of the quality of government has started to take place with effective measures. My offer to every government is: Make hay when the sun shines. The government—if they want to want to remain the government— and rich people—if they want to remain rich people—have to protect themselves from the onslaughts of negativity and conflicts and all the wrong things that will eat up their wealth, or they will be on the streets tomorrow.

‘So take it as it has come; take it as it has come. And Prime Minister, invite the people on my behalf, on behalf of the real nature of life, the real nature of the nation, and the real nature of the administration of the universe through Natural Law, the light of God. All glory to Guru Dev. All glory to Guru Dev.

‘All good, all good, is going to dawn on earth. It has dawned; it is going to be the midday sunshine very soon. Take your opportunity, Dr Prime Minister. Invite the governments of the world and the wealthy to participate quickly to arrange a group of four hundred people in every country and raise the country to invincibility. It is not a story; it is not gossip; it is not a hope. It is a reality.

‘Jai Guru Dev. And if there are any questions—there should not be any questions, but if there are—it will be a joy to answer them.’ 

Question: The Most Ideal Location for a Group of Yogic Flyers

Dr Morris: ‘Thank you very much, Maharishi. Yes, absolutely, we will make an invitation to the government and to the wealthy of Holland and of every nation to create their national group—not to simply watch while others do it for them but to make a permanent group of Yogic Flyers themselves that can create national invincibility.

‘Just before I emphasize that at length, and very clearly and strongly, there is a question that has come up from the press about the location of the group of Yogic Flyers within the country. The press says: Supposing that the group of Yogic Flyers is established on the edge of the country, like in one corner of the country, on the border of another country, will the influence of the Yogic Flying tend to just simply go across the border into the neighbouring country? Or will it stay within the country from which that group of Yogic Flyers has arisen? Where would be the ideal place to establish the group of Yogic Flyers? What geographical location within each country is the best spot for the group of Yogic Flyers? This is the question from the press today.’ 

Maharishi: ‘The best will be the centre of the country. From the centre of the country, the radiance will be in all directions, and the whole country will enjoy the radiance. If it is in the corner, definitely the radiance will go to the other country—definitely, definitely. So the center of the country will be the most ideal place.’

Question: The Discovery of Vedic Technologies

Dr Morris: ‘Maharishi, there is also the question: How did you discover Yogic Flying? And how did you discover that it was so powerful that it produces an influence of national coherence and makes a nation invincible?’

Maharishi: ‘Throughout the ages, the voice of Vedic India has been that life is bliss—the individual is cosmic. This is the reality that has been throughout the ages in the air of India. I put it into practice, and found it was so. And what was in favour of this that helped me was the worldwide communication now. Even fifty years ago, worldwide communication was available.

‘In the previous centuries, the countries remained divided, unconnected—mostly unconnected. That’s why they remained suffering. But the voice of India, the reality of the teaching of Vedic India, has always been that life is bliss, the individual is cosmic, “Aham Brahmasmi”. This is a Vedic expression about the reality of the individual: I am Totality—”Aham Brahmasmi”; I am Totality—”Aham Brahmasmi”. So many different lines of action directed human beings in Vedic India all the time.

‘So what I said was absolutely nothing new, only when I knew from Guru Dev that life is bliss, and “Aham Brahmasmi”, and all that, then I thought, “If life is like that, what is the life being experienced by the people at large? It is completely opposite to that.” Life was suffering. Even religions grew to say, “Life is suffering; life is suffering; life is suffering.” If this distorted understanding about life continues the people will remain without taking advantage of this eternal wisdom.

‘The wisdom is nothing new. I am establishing today Peace Governments. This is nothing new. In the entire Vedic history of India, the rulers have ruled on this basis. And the axiom about it was “Yatha Raja Tatha Praja”—As is the king, so is his population. This is on the basis of the realization of the real totality of life on the individual king and on the masses of his subjects.

‘I am not saying anything new—absolutely nothing new—except something that was hidden to other people. I said, “Now you close your eyes and find yourself; you close your eyes and find yourself.” That was all that I did. I did nothing new. It is an old story, the individual, not knowing how to do, when he does things he makes a mess of his life. Individuals who know how to do, they do it from their self-referral consciousness, from their mind, mind, mind. Through thoughts, they achieve; through thoughts, they achieve. So the art of thinking and achieving, is an old thought of mankind.

‘Man somewhere was defined: “Man was made in the image of God, in the image of God, in the image of God.” Then this man was not made in suffering. So there was a big hodgepodge about belief in God or paths to God—about religion here and there. Lots of religions mislead their people that life is suffering. And they say, “Oh, we are a practical religion. Life is suffering. Life is suffering.” Only the mistake of misunderstanding is being removed. Nothing new is being brought out.

‘There is a saying: “Nothing is new under the sun.” So why should bliss be foreign to man? Why should God be foreign to man? Why should Total Natural Law be foreign to man? Why should perfect order be foreign to man? It just needs understanding. And once the real understanding about the nature of life comes along, one generation is enough for all future generations to be blessed on the same road.

‘It is beautiful. It is beautiful for us; it is beautiful for us to ring the bell of eureka now and to give the gift of knowledge to the people. This is awakening the people to their own reality—to their own reality and to nothing else.

‘So congratulate the world press at this time, and the individuals. My message does not depend upon the press. The press of Holland was completely silent; even now, it is completely silent. But the influence of light spreading from the source of light is not dependent upon how people talk about it or what people write about it.

‘My message, my reality, is completely independent of what people understand or think about it—completely independent of the press. I never run after press. . . . Congratulate them. They are born and working at a time when the world is being transformed. Jai Guru Dev.’
