Opening Remarks

Maharishi: ‘Jai Guru Dev. It is such a joy to listen to the steps of progress. When you launched the activity of Peace Government, the Constitution of the Universe led you to take care of the world economy first. You are starting to lay out the world economy on a level of invincibility. It is not just a matter of beautiful expressions for building the buildings, but you are building the base of a very brilliant world economy in the very fortunate city of New York.

‘I am watching with great interest and joy every day, how Natural Law is organizing your every step towards a more and more glorious base for the world economy. Soon we would like to see the capital of world economy rising in New York. And soon we would like to see a new fortune-creating world economy to get rid of the black spot in the history of world economy.

‘So much poverty and all will soon be eliminated, in the same way as with the first ray of the rising sun in the morning, the darkness of the night simply disappears. Like the miracle that the dawn creates every day by completely eliminating the darkness of the night, the same is going to come out of your efforts Dr Hagelin, as the President of the Peace Government of the United States. Ever since you inaugurated the Capital in the Brahmasthan of United States, the fortune-creating values of Natural Law are awake in all parts of the world.

‘It is just a matter to see now. Watch what happens this morning, this afternoon, this evening. Every day, something glorious is happening. A beautiful destiny—a fortune-creating destiny of mankind—is being designed in every step of progress of Dr Hagelin and all the Rajas. It is such a beautiful, fortunate assembly of the administrators of the world with the parental role for the whole world population. A new destiny is dawning.

‘Continue, and lead the press to witness what is going to happen morning after morning, noon after noon, evening after evening in that great capital of wealth, New York. Create a new fortune-creating base for the world to bless the world economy. From that level, the world politics will be blessed with harmony, happiness, wisdom, waves of life in bliss, and the integration of the whole world family into the one united wholeness of the Global Country.

‘It is a beautiful aspiration which Natural Law is bringing about every moment, as the day goes from hour to hour, and every day leads to the next day. I am just watching how spontaneously Natural Law has immediately started to function as you, Dr Hagelin, inaugurated the Peace Government. That was the most fortunate door of human aspiration that you have opened to fulfil the aspirations of all the wise throughout the ages.

‘How peacefully the Constitution of the Universe administers the fortune of the world. How silently Total Natural Law, the will of God, opens newer and newer avenues of perfection, leading to the invincibility of life on earth. It is such a joy.

‘All glory, all credit, to the inexhaustible, glorious tradition of Vedic Masters—the custodians of the Constitution of the Universe—which now spontaneously maintains law and order and perfection, in terms of invincibility for every nation in our beautiful world family, for the fortune of all our children to come in the coming generations for all times.

‘Jai Guru Dev. And glory to the tradition of Vedic Masters. Jai Guru Dev.’ 

Question: American Intelligence Transforming the World

Dr Hagelin: ‘Jai Guru Dev. Thank you very much, Maharishi, for this glorious introduction and this advice to the press to watch closely, day by day, even hour by hour. Maharishi is marveling at how Natural Law is quietly organizing for a new destiny for the world’s finances, as the center of the financial institutions of the world is moved from downtown New York to some beautiful, very auspicious spot north of New York City by the Hudson, where a beautiful layout for an ideal, fortune-promoting capital of the global economy is being designed. It is really under Maharishi’s nourishing attention that events are unfolding at such an extraordinary pace, day by day. The press should be alert and should report on the transforming destiny of the finances of our world.

‘Maharishi, we have a question from the reporters on global poverty and how we are going to eliminate it. Maharishi, there is so much creativity and so much wealth in America, in particular in the financial center of New York City. Yet so much of the world is in dire poverty. Why is this? Why can’t the creative minds of America and of other wealthy nations solve the problem of poverty in the world?’ 

Maharishi: ‘I think the answer is in the question itself. It is not a question of when, or why, or who. It is a question of witnessing that American intelligence. Dr Hagelin is that expression of American intelligence. So now you cannot say, “Why can’t American intelligence rise to purify the world?” It has already risen.

‘American intelligence has already risen in the person of Dr Hagelin, the top scientist of the world. He has inaugurated his Peace Government. It has happened already. It is not a matter of future hope—no, no. It is not a matter of hope. As the darkness of the night ends when the dawn comes, it is not a perpetual thing. The dawn has come, and the darkness of the American intelligence, which was doing wrong things, is now changed. Already it has changed. Yesterday’s America was a different story from today’s America. And today's America will be a different story from tomorrow’s America and the next day’s America.

‘Day after day, watch. America is losing its darkness and gaining the dawn through a fortune-creating economy in New York. It is happening. It is not a matter of the future; it is a matter of the present, now, today, tomorrow, next moment, next afternoon.’

Question: Role of the Rajas

Dr Hagelin: ‘Thank you very much, Maharishi. If time allows, there is a question from the Washington Post on the role of the Rajas. The Rajas are creating quite a sensation. There are long processions of Rajas with crowns and gowns and bagpipes. These enlightened administrators of the Global Country of World Peace are moving in the United States—in the capital city of Washington, DC, and in the financial capital of America here in New York City. The Washington Post wanted some more information: Who are the Rajas? How do you become a Raja? What exactly do the Rajas do? What is their role in your global government?’

Maharishi: ‘The word Raja is “ruler”. It is a very real word. Who can rule the destiny of a million or millions of people in his domain? Someone who can have a command of Total Natural Law from its most silent level of non-action.

‘A Raja should be understood in terms of that supreme ability to administer through silence. Prevention-oriented administration is the administration of the Raja. A Raja will create coherent national consciousness in his domain. He will create that collective consciousness which is coherent. In that intense coherence, the area’s collective consciousness will be invincible and simply will not allow any unfortunate happening or unfortunate feeling or action, in the same way as when the light is on, there is no room for darkness to display its ignorance.

‘A Raja is a ruler. He is the commander of his own Self, radiating the commanding nature of his Self to the whole of his environment. Yesterday “ruling power” meant that every four years, they were begging on the street, “You give me the power; give me your vote.” These are the beggars of power. That is why, from the beggars of authority—the beggars of power—the rule cannot be authoritative, the rule cannot prevent disaster. So the rule so far has not been that of a ruler, but that of a servant of the ruler, “your most obedient servant”. . . .

‘The whole of life, was held up, we would say, in the waves of darkness. Now the dawn is coming up. Here is an American who will take away the mistakes of the so-called rulers of the past. He will take away the misfortunes created by the so-called rulers of the past, who were only the beggars of power. “Give me the vote, and I will give you this. I will give you a million, and you give me the vote. You become my agent, and you do this thing.” The whole royalty of ruling has been brought down to the level of begging on the streets. This was the shameful state, and we call it “the darkness in the field of ignorance”.

‘Fortunately, the night is over, and the dawn is up for everyone to enjoy. The ruler's crown is a symbol of authority, and it has been in the long history of Vedic rulers. What is the authority of the ruler with the crown, the Raja? His awareness is on the level of the rulership of the world, on the level of the Constitution of the Universe. That is his law. His word is law. His vision is the light and the bright destiny for everyone. He is a ruler of the Vedic age.

‘The Vedic age is the age of knowledge, the age of science, the age of Total Knowledge. Our rulers through their parental role are the expressions of that divine rule which silently blesses all the people. This is the Raja, who is going to provide a parental role through his ruling power, which otherwise has been wrongly known and wrongly practiced with wrong results. But now, here comes an enlightened American scientist, who has insight into Total Knowledge and the technology of Total Knowledge to achieve what he wants to achieve. What he wants to achieve as a ruler is all good to everyone, non-good to no one. Prevention-oriented administration is going to blossom from now.

‘What is Natural Law leading the Raja to do? To take care of the economy, which will take care of the politics and will take care of all the weaknesses and all that. . . .

‘The gathering of the Rajas, the glorious, enlightened assembly of the Rajas, has a new brightness, a new glare to it. They will get the land and establish the Global Center of World Economy there, and then from there, everywhere in the world. It is beautiful.

The rule of the president of the government of America will be the rule of silence, the rule of fulfilment, satisfaction, and good fortune in all the present and future. Forget about the past; it is a beautiful value of the dawn in every way.
